Fire watch services in Carlsbad: local requirements and logbook
Carlsbad’s September 2024 construction and demolition guide calls for fire watch during nonworking hours for new buildings over 40 feet high, new multistory construction over 50,000 square feet per story, or when required by Fire & Life Safety.
Appendix C is specifically a buildings-under-construction log. It calls for constant site patrols and log entries at least every 60 minutes, with records kept on site for inspection. Entries include the site, date, personnel, tour time, observations and corrective action.
Confirm the current construction requirements and approved site safety plan with the city. For an occupied building’s alarm or sprinkler outage, obtain the applicable impairment instructions separately.
